i don't know if this has already been posted...

the site is back up again, but only the forum and not all the articles.

i don't know the significance of this, but when you enter the wo url, it is redirected to:

when i talked to my mother yesterday, everytime she would try to defend the watchtower organization, she would say, and jehovah says..." i would respond, "noooo.

the watchtower organization says that.

show me the scripture in the bible that says, "jehovah says" right now".

A while ago I came across this web site, Comparing the One True Churches , and was fascinated to learn of the number of 'religions' that all claimed to be the 'one true church' and how similar they all are! That really opened my eyes to the fact the JWs are not unique, despite everything they say in the Watchtower magazine!

Wouldn't you be opening yourself up to lawsuits from the Watchtower?

Not if, as previously discussed, an alternative Bible translation was quoted: e.g. NRSV. Having said that, wouldn't the 'fair use' provisions apply, even if the NWT was quoted?

wouldn't it confirm in the Dub's minds that apostates are liars and deceivers?

Only if something was stated on the website that was untrue or intended to deceive.

If you do it, you can probably save yourself some time by using some prebuilt software. Some forum software like phpBB or PHPnuke would allow you to concentrate on content instead of development.

So, has anyone got the time and iinclination to prepare the material?

A lovely bookmark sized PDF with the years' book study schedule printed on it.

Thanks but no thanks for your further suggestion! I've seen far too many cheesy, trite little bookmarks to last a lifetime, thank you very much! Mind you, it's exactly the sort of thing JWs love--so maybe it's not such a bad idea after all!

Good luck on collecting volunteers. Get them to PM you.

I'd love to have the time to do it myself, but don't.

Is anyone interested in picking this up and running with it?

I'm tempted to add public talks to the list of 'paid for' services, but think that's getting a bit silly.

So, who's got the skill to build the web site?

And more importantly, the time to prepare the material?

Thanks for the links.

However, I was thinking more of a small site listing scriptures only, at first, to replace those of Designer and Silver.

If it became popular, then it could be expanded to also include Ministry School and Service Meeting research. That is where there would be the potential to include references from some of the Society's older publications...
